Community Public Access Defibrillator

Community Public Access Defibrillator

In February 2017 the Parish Council decided that they would investigate the installation of a Community Public Access Defibrillator in the redundant BT telephone box.

While the defibrillator is currently in the telephone box there was discussion that it was best suited to be located at the Village Hall as that is where it is most likely to be required. After much debate it was decided to refurbish the telephone box and the defibrillator installed there.

The Defib

The Parish Council has installed a Defibrillator supplied and administered by Community Heartbeat.

The defibrillator is located in the Belchamp Walter Telephone Box, Gestingthorpe Road, Essex, CO10 7AU

On-line training

Due to the current Covid-19 situation Community Heartbeat have informed us that they are unable to offer their standard awareness system and at present they would not be considering any face to face sessions until January and this would be dependent on the then government advice. Due to the new restrictions in place they will review again during December.

Meanwhile we can offer the links below for guidance and support.

After installation the following instruction were posted to the Parish Council Website:
